Performance Characteristic of Instruments - Static characteristic and Dynamic Characteristic.

Static and Dynamic characteristics  are the Performance characteristics of instrument.

"Performance characteristic of instrument is nothing but the characteristic observed during test or during operation of the instrument."

A) Static Characteristic:-

It is defined as the set of criteria for instrument, which are used to measure quantities which does not vary with time or mostly constant with respect to time or which vary very slowly are called static characteristics of the instrument.

There are various static characteristics as :-

  1. Accuracy.
  2. Sensitivity.
  3. Precision.
  4. Linearity.
  5. Reproducibility.
  6. Repeatability.
  7. Resolution.
  8. Threshold.
  9. Drift.
  10. Stability.
  11. Tolerance.
  12. Range or span.

B) Dynamic Characteristic:-

It is defined as the criteria for instruments, which vary or changes very rapidly with respect to time is called Dynamic characteristic of instrument.

There are various Dynamic characteristics as :-

  1. Speed of response.
  2. measuring lag.
  3. Fidelity.
  4. Dynamic error.

Bit Logic Instruction in Simatic manager

There are total 14 instructions under the bit logic instruction like NO contact, NC contact, SR flip-flop, RS flip-flop,invert power flow etc. lets see the detailed use of them.  A) Normally open contact :- Normally open contacts are closed when the bit value stored at the specific address is equal to 1 (one)(here the specific address refers to the address assigned to the NO contact), when we press the Normally open contact assigned to the specific address then it becomes functionally closed and we get supply. here in below fig. when we press the NO contact I0.0 then Output Q0.0 gets ON and when we release the input I0.0 then Output gets OFF. B)Normally Closed Contact :- Normally closed contacts are closed when the bit value stored at the specific add, i.e. the address assigned to the NC contact is equal to 0(zero). when we press the Normally closed contact assigned to the specific address then it becomes functionally open and supply is cuts off. NC contact wor...
